To All My Fellow Wayne County Voters:
For the first time ever I feel compelled to step outside of party lines to endorse Libertarian candidate Robert “Brent” Meadows as your next Wayne County Coroner. He is currently a Deputy Coroner under my direction and I have known and worked alongside Moose, as we affectionately call him, for many years as Emergency Paramedics and Firefighters. In that capacity, we served the general public in times of great need. I am asking you to please consider voting for the person rather than a straight party ticket this fall.
The current staff and I have worked tirelessly to develop and improve the relationships we currently enjoy between the Coroner’s Office and State and local Law Enforcement agencies, Reid Health, area health care providers, local Funeral Homes, emergency responders county wide, and other Wayne County Offices. With the onset of widespread narcotic abuse in our area, we are experiencing nearly triple the number of cases processed compared to those of my predecessor.
The Indiana State Department of Health introduced a new record keeping software that is now required in all drug-related, violent, and accidental deaths. The fact that Moose is currently working with this new system, while serving as a Wayne County Deputy Coroner makes him far more qualified than his opponent. He has a tremendous work ethic and continuously displays the highest levels of honesty and integrity. He has extensive experience in the medical field in teaching, planning, budgeting, and management. He has served as a liaison between government and medical agencies up to and including at the state level.
I strongly feel that he is the more qualified of the two candidates to maintain and continue to develop the current level of professionalism within the Office of Coroner especially in these times of a pandemic, social disparities, and drug addiction problems. Please join me and many of my Democratic, Republican, and Libertarian friends in voting for Robert “Brent” Meadows for Wayne County Coroner. He is hands down the clearest choice to best serve you.
Vote the Candidate, not the ticket; it matters NOW more than ever!
Respectfully, Ron Stevens, Wayne County Coroner
As you have come to know, I unfortunately did not win the republican nomination for the Office of Coroner here in Wayne County. I was heartbroken by these results. However, I am more heartbroken and worried for the families of Wayne County. Some well known past mistakes should not be repeated! You still have a chance to make a difference. Join me in voting for Libertarian Robert “Brent” Meadows for your next Wayne County Coroner.
Brent has 40 years of impeccable service within our community, state and nation. He has trained members of public safety, all the way up to the FBI. Brent was previously a Deputy Coroner in Madison County, Indiana for many years and now serves as a Deputy Coroner here in Wayne County under Coroner Ron Stevens. He does so with the upmost empathy, respect, and integrity, at every scene, every time. Brent also has the endorsement of Coroner Ron Stevens and many members of the Coroner’s Office. Furthermore, Brent has the support from members of our local and county law enforcement, fire service, and EMS.
Brent has many plans for the Coroner’s Office.
•Increase training for Deputies
•Increase transparency with finances and other governmental processes
•Easier access to Coroner Records for grieving families
•Better relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement
• Increase professionalism and investigative techniques within the office
•Offer training opportunities for local law enforcement to better death investigations
•Accomplish an accreditation process to ensure the best techniques are being used
•And so much more!
Brent also wants to ensure a smooth transition of Office. Brent has no plans to deconstruct the current office structure. The current members of the office have over a hundred years of combined experience, which include communications, criminal investigations, technology, fire service, emergency care, inpatient/outpatient care. These men are highly trained and have a great passion for the office and the people we serve.
In closing, there is no logical reason why one would want to deconstruct an office that in its present state, is professional, experienced, and well respected by officials in law enforcement, EMS, and the fire service. Again, please join me in voting for Libertarian Robert “Brent” Meadows for Wayne County Coroner.
Sincerely, Wayne Loudy Jr., Wayne County Deputy Coroner
I come to you with over a decade of public safety experience stimming from my time in emergency dispatching, law enforcement, the medical field, and currently an investigator with the Coroner’s Office. I have worked for the office during most of Coroner Stevens’ tenure. The respect, professionalism, and investigative techniques within the office have never been seen before. I am a strong republican, but I ask you not vote a straight ticket and vote the candidate; vote libertarian Robert Meadows for your next Wayne County Coroner.
I cannot begin to express how significant this election is for our citizens. The Coroner and his deputies are entrusted by the public to ensure their family member is cared for after their final moments on earth. You are expected to provide compassion, respect, and dignity while also making sure a proper investigation is complete so you can provide the survivors closure, and in some cases, justice. If you fail to provide the three aforementioned, and do not follow proper procedures, direction from pathologists, and law enforcement officials, you have failed your constituents, the people that trusted you with their loved one.
Meadows, who currently works for the office, brings over 40 years of experience in public safety, compassion, honesty, and most importantly, integrity. The direction for the office that Meadows has only benefits the families we serve. Meadows has stated he will not dismantle the current office, which currently has over 100 years of combined experience. Meadows wants to make the office stronger, more professional, educated, and accessible than it already is. The plans he has for the office are tremendous.
The love and compassion I have for this office, it's future, and the families we serve is beyond measure. Please join me, Coroner Stevens, many members of our office along with other local public safety professionals in voting Meadows for Coroner. This election matters now more than ever!
Respectfully, Dillon Pitcher, Wayne County Deputy Coroner
